WELCOME! AN INTRODUCTION
The “School of Activism” is a collective of educators committed to democratic, social justice education and community development. Popular Education is a movement, a practice and a theory of social change that is based on learning and committed to resisting unjust uses of power.
IT IS A WORK IN PROGRESS BY ASEEM TRIVEDI, AN ACTIVIST & ARTIST, AND ALOK DIXIT,A JOURNALIST. THEY ARE BOTH LONG-TIME POLITICAL ACTIVISTS AND BOTH OF THEM BELIEVE THAT USING ART AND CULTURE TO TRANSFORM THE WORLD IS A GOOD IDEA. BUT THEY ARE BOTH HAUNTED BY THE SAME QUESTION: HOW DO WE GAUGE THE SUCCESS OF OUR PROJECTS? HELL, HOW DO WE EVEN THINK ABOUT SUCCESS WHEN OUR GOAL IS UTOPIA?
